Yesterday I went to visit a Great Blue Heron rookery to see if there was any sign of the young ones yet. I wasn't betting on it, since it is still early spring. Sure enough, I didn't see any young ones but there must have been eggs to tend to as the adults were all being very attentive to the nests. I caught this one just as it was returning to the nest from a short flight.
